With all of these materials being so precious, we obviously need the latest technology. Cardiff Marble has a 100% reinvestment policy which enables us to purchase and run the latest technological machinery available in the stone industry today. These programmable fully automated machines allow us to be millimetre accurate, cut and profile any shape whilst remaining competitive.
With the combination of machinery, experience and capability, the range of edge finishing detail is limitless. From a traditional bull nose to an ogee to a modern drop-front edge, the options are huge and growing all the time.
Of course even though the machine is millimetre accurate, with our decades of experience, we do not rely on them. As it is the finest of detail that creates the beauty of the finished article, each piece is finished by hand, by craftsmen who pride themselves in their capabilities and have a true love of the material.
Each completed job is guaranteed to be totally unique. From it?s overall layout and shape through to its grain structure, colour shading and finish. No two jobs will ever be the same, a totally bespoke product.
Hand selection
Our objective with our materials is to offer the widest possible selection of both natural and engineered stones in Wales and possibly the U.K.
We spend a massive amount of time travelling the world from Italy to India, Norway, Brazil to South Africa and so on, personally hand selecting our materials to ensure we are buying the very best quality materials and keeping up to date with what?s new, as it happens.
The surface finish is of paramount importance. We work closely with our Italian partners researching and developing new surface finishes and textures. The most popular surface finish is obviously the high polish showcasing the true beauty, colour and movement of the natural materials giving a mirror-like finish. The other textured finishes are Honed, River washed, Antique, Flame textured and Leather, all of which bring a tactile third dimension to the stone.
Faultless finish
Once you have visited us, soaked up the different options and made your final decision, one of our teams of fitters will visit you to template the proposed areas. He will cut full size templates and lay them out in a finished position. He will discuss in great detail all of the different options which are bespoke to your individual needs. Templates will be altered as many time as is necessary until you are completely happy with the layout.
On completion he will leave you with a copy drawing and list of all you have discussed and return the templates to the factory to start fabrication.
Once our masons have finished fabrication, the same fitting team will return and install your new stone surfaces to the same level of quality that you would have now come to expect from us, totally transforming the room.
