Why are we raising money?

Evan Bowden is a 15 year old student at Croesyceiliog Comprehensive school in Cwmbran where he is currently studying for his GCSE exams. Evan lives in New Inn, Pontypool with his parents and younger brother.

He is a keen rugby player and plays for Pontypool united RU and The Torfaen Tigers RL. He is currently a member of the Dragons Academy under 16s black squad. 

Evan hopes to join the Rugby Academy in Newport High School in September to begin his A level's.

Cardiff Marble is proud to support this local young man to raise funds for his four week expedition to Kenya with Camps International later this year. 

Camps International are global leaders in ethical and sustainable school expeditions and offer fully-supported life-enhancing school expeditions.

For Evan the expedition will be a real and authentic cultural experience. An opportunity to experience and understand the day to day challenges rural communities face, he will work on projects which will directly benefit and often transform communities and help them overcome significant issues, including access to clean water, education and housing.

There will also be wildlife and environment focused projects to contribute to, from reforesting damaged areas and maintaining wildlife perimeter fences.


Over the four weeks Evan will be sharing in these core objectives in order to:

  • Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural Kenya
  • Raise the living standards of developing communities.
  • Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programmes to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.

Camps International:

Terms & Condition

  1. All funds raised will be received by Evan Bowden and used to fund his travel and stay in Kenya.
  2. Cardiff Marble will not profit from any of the donations from this fund raising competition.
  3. Minimum donation of £20 is required to be entered into this competition.
  4. Multiple entries of £20 can be can made increasing win chance. (eg: One donation of £40 will count as 2 entries into the competition)
  5. Donations can be any value to help Evan on his way. (See condition number 3 regarding minimum competition entry requirement)
  6. The prize can be chosen from selected materials up to the value of £4,000.00. This total will include the cost of material, fabrication and installation.
  7. This prize can not be exchanged for money or any other item(s) or offer(s).
  8. Once the winner has been announced, any surfaces must be installed by 30th June 2021.
  9. Installation can not take place between 1/11/20 - 10/01/21.
  10. If the overall cost exceeds £4,000.00 (inc. v.a.t.) the additional will be paid by the winner.
